How often should I service my car?

Most manufacturers recommend every 12 months or 10,000–12,000 miles

Vehicle on the floor

  • Check lights, horn, washers and wipers
  • Check and top up under bonnet levels

Vehicle fully raised

  • Check engine bay
  • Check tyres and wheels
  • Check exhaust system
  • Drain engine oil and oil filter

Vehicle half raised

  • Inspect brakes (through wheels)
  • Check and adjust tyre pressures

Final items check

  • Check air con. operation (if fitted)
  • Reset service light, stamp service book / register DSR, reset TPMS and fit service reminder
  • Road test

Vehicle on the floor
